Stroeer Group: Launch of Europe´s Biggest LED Nightscreen

Innovative outdoor advertising XXL: Yesterday, at sunset, a huge LED screen with its innovative technology was officially put into operation in Berlin–Schöneberg. Thanks to the Internet–based technology of the 42 media group, animated posters and videos can be displayed on the screen in real time. Noted political and business leaders, representatives of Berlin´s administration and the media as well as many invited guests watched the illuminated event from the "Schwimmhalle" vantage point in Schöneberg.

Over the past few weeks, climbers and technicians worked in dizzying heights of up to 80 m at the Gasometer, an industrial monument in Berlin–Schöneberg, to install Europe´s biggest "Nightscreen", whose light will shine in the direction of the Steglitz city autobahn. Stroeer Megaposter GmbH, a Stroeer Group company, installed the LED net with a height of 35 m and a width of 20 m, covering an area of 660 sq.m. The technological innovation was attached to the upper third of the Gasometer using a special crossbar construction. 550 LED chains consisting of 27,500 LED pixels were connected to form the digital outdoor advertising medium.

"The Nightscreen allows high–quality displays of animated posters and video clips, will broadcast its imagery messages every night for the next five years and contribute to the gradual restoration of the Gasometer," said Gerd Henrich, Managing Director of Stroeer Megaposter. In cooperation with the European Energy Forum (EUREF), a project was developed that uses advertising to support the restoration of the Gasometer.
