China orders dozens of Airbus A3330 jets

PARIS (Reuters) - China placed an order on Tuesday for dozens of Airbus A330 jets during a visit by Chinese Prime Minister Li Keqiang to France.

A spokesman for the European planemaker said the deal includes a firm purchase of 45 A330 aircraft, worth at least $11 billion at list prices, plus provisional orders for another 30.

The deal was signed during a ceremony watched by business leaders and reporters at the French prime minister's office.

Sources familiar with the discussions had told Reuters last week that China may purchase between 50-70 of the wide-body jets as part of a deal under which AIRBUS (EAD.PA)is expected to open a new industrial plant in the world's fastest-growing aviation market.
