MIAMI (Reuters) - The chief executive of planemaker Airbus said some potential customers were more seriously studying its A380 super jumbo than before.
"After some years where people were considering the A380 would not find its place in fleet planning, they are now studying it much more seriously," Fabrice Bregier told Reuters in an interview in Miami on the sidelines of the annual meeting of the International Air Transport Association (IATA).
Bregier said he hoped AIRBUS (EAD.PA)would have a new customer for the A380 this year.
He added the company would have to take a decision in early 2017 whether to change the production rate of the jet or not, depending on whether it finds any new buyers.
"We would have to adjust for 2018, not before, so we have some time to get additional customers onboard," he added.
