NEW DELHI (Reuters) - Preliminary unofficial results on the parliament's official scoreboard showed that Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh's government was leading a vote of confidence in parliament on Tuesday.
The scoreboard showed 253 votes for the government against232 for the opposition, but more than 50 votes remained to becounted.
Nevertheless government MPS congratulated the primeminister in parliament.
