CreaLog Empowers Telcos to Record Mobile Calls

Europe´s first service for mobile call recording is presented by the Munich based system house CreaLog at the Mobile World Congress 2015 in early March in Barcelona. This solution is available immediately and enables financial institutes to record mobile calls, SMS messages and call details directly within the provider’s network. CreaLog technology (www.crealog.com) paves the way for implementing the tightened financial market regulations concerning recording rules, enacted by the European Parliament to protect bank customers and to be in force across Europe from 2017. The solution was developed in collaboration with Swisscom and is already being used by more than 50 Swiss financial institutes since early this year.

Swiss banks lead the way

The rationale behind starting early in Switzerland: New recording and archiving requirements issued by the Swiss Financial Market Supervisory Authority, FINMA, are in force since early January. Their purpose is to prevent insider deals or deliberate misinformation in customer consulting calls leading to financial damage for customers. With this in mind, Swisscom was the first telecom provider to update their communications infrastructure accordingly: Swisscom´s new Mobile Voice Recording service is built on the CreaLog platform. It allows for flexible customizing to suit customers´ requirements and is available for other organisations of any other sector as well.

Easy to use - no special app needed

Organizations can take advantage of this service simply by registering the mobile phone numbers of staff members with Swisscom whose conversations with, e. g., customers need to be recorded. These phone numbers are stored in a so-called White List data base. The new Mobile Voice Recording solution does the rest - even if one or both parties are abroad with their mobile phones and are conducting a roaming call. This service works with any mobile voice device and does not need a special app of any kind on a smartphone.
