Royal Brompton & Harefield Selects Nexthink for Insight into IT Infrastructure

Nexthink®, the unique provider of End-user IT Analytics, in partnership with Datrix, has today announced that its V5 modular platform has been selected by Royal Brompton & Harefield NHS Foundation Trust to provide greater visibility and insight, and improve IT service delivery across its technical estate and network infrastructure.

Nexthink V5 pro-actively monitors IT networks and reports on important end-user related events, such as changes in the IT infrastructure, application usage and bandwidth, error messages and crashes, as well as potential security risks. It ensures the performance of IT services is recorded and uniquely visualised from the all-important perspective of the end-user.

Mahmood Chaudhri, Managing Director at integration partner Datrix, said “Nexthink V5 is a great fit for healthcare. With the huge increase in clinical and personal devices connecting to the network, it is a critical requirement that these devices perform as expected at all times to maintain clinical services. We are delighted that Royal Brompton & Harefield NHS Foundation Trust is already seeing value from Nexthink”.

“The Trust recognises the important role played by technology in delivering the best possible care and service to our patients, so there’s a real appetite for ensuring it’s employed to its best potential” said Joanna Smith, CIO at Royal Brompton & Harefield NHS Foundation Trust.

“When I joined the Trust two years ago, there was very little information on the make-up of its technical estate, and no satisfactory means of identifying it. Since deploying Nexthink’s End-user IT Analytics earlier last year however, we have a reliable, comprehensive view of every device on our technical estate - and its configuration - giving us a clear idea of where further investment is needed to achieve our objectives.”

She continues, “Our service desk is already seeing significant benefits. The visibility that Nexthink offers allows them to be pro-active, identifying and isolating issues long before they become a bigger problem across the infrastructure – and often before the affected end-user is aware of their existence. ”

Royal Brompton & Harefield NHS Foundation Trust is the largest specialist heart and lung centre in the UK and among the largest in Europe. Working from two sites, Royal Brompton Hospital in Chelsea, West London, and Harefield Hospital near Uxbridge, the Trust’s technical estate consists of around 2,750 end-users. The Trust undertakes more than 144,000 outpatient appointments and supervises around 32,000 inpatient stays each year.

“We are pleased to welcome Royal Brompton & Harefield NHS Foundation Trust as a customer,” said Tim Pollard, vice president Europe at Nexthink. “The intelligence and network visibility provided by IT operations analytics are already delivering tangible benefits to the Trust by improving the quality of its IT services, and contributing to a considered and targeted transformation of its technical estate.”
