Patton Electronics—US-manufacturer of award-winning SmartNode™ VoIP solutions, BODI rS™ High Availability Fixed & Mobile Routers, and CopperLink™ Ethernet Extenders—is now shipping the new SmartNode™ Open Gateway Appliance (SNOGA).
Named “2015 Product of the Year” by Internet Telephony magazine, the SNOGA is designed for developers of customized, on-premise communications appliances for small-to-medium businesses that require 2 to 128 concurrent voice or fax calls.
Patton is the first and only manufacturer in the IP-telephony industry to create such a product.
“Patton is changing the landscape for application developers,” said Bret Patton, SmartNode Product Manager. “The door is open right now for partners in the open-source engineering community.”
Patton is currently offering demo units to qualifying partners for proof-of-concept testing.
The SNOGA offers the first-ever open hardware platform in the IP-telephony industry for product developers that want to create the ideal, customized, Linux or Windows-based unified-communications (UC) or business phone system for the specialized needs of small-to-medium businesses (SMBs).
The SNOGA hardware platform can host such network-appliance applications as Interactive Voice Response (IVR), call recording, call-accounting, enterprise session border controller (E-SBC), and more.
Using the SNOGA with their Linux or Windows-based IP-PBX or UC software, software engineers can build IP-communications solutions for the specialized business processes of such organizations as law firms, banks, retailers, manufacturers, auto shops, call centers, and others.
The SNOGA incorporates an industry-standard miniITX motherboard and a 2 GHz Intel Celeron quad-core processor integrated with a reliable SmartNode VoIP gateway or enterprise session border controller (E-SBC).
SmartNode is highly-reputed for proven interoperability with well-known FXS/FXO, PRI and BRI phone equipment and services. So SMBs can use SmartNode to integrate their existing voice equipment and PSTN services with UC systems, IP-PBXs and SIP-trunk services.
The SmartNode SIP back-to-back user agent ensures secure, interoperability when connecting an IP PBX with any SIP trunking service or softswitch.
With industry-standard upstream QoS and Patton’s DownStreamQos, the SNOGA ensures high-quality voice within the subscriber premise.
The SNOGA—like all Patton products—comes with Patton’s Gold-Standard Free Support at no additional charge. Patton’s Platinum-Plus Premium 24/7 Support is also available.
