Dow Jones & Company announced today that Howard Hoffman has been promoted to vice president, corporate affairs.
In that role, Mr. Hoffman will be the company´s chief spokesman, responsible for internal and external communications at the corporate level. He also will be responsible for the company´s corporate social responsibility initiatives, including administration of the Dow Jones Foundation, through which Dow Jones supports journalism education and other charitable causes.
Mr. Hoffman had been a director in the Corporate Communications group at Dow Jones for the past two years. Earlier in his career he was journalist at The Wall Street Journal and Dow Jones Newswires, serving in a variety of reporting, editing and senior management roles at those publications in New York, London and Princeton, N.J.
