FAST Gets the Job Done by Serving 600 Searches per Second on Over
One Million Job Postings and 18 Million Resumes
Fast Search & Transfer(TM) (OSEAX: FAST.OL) (FAST(TM)), the
leading developer of enterprise search technologies and solutions, and
CareerBuilder.com, the largest online job site in the U.S., announced
an expansion of their partnership to drive further innovations and
global expansion in the online recruitment market. CareerBuilder.com
has signed a four-year enterprise agreement to use FAST Enterprise
Search Platform(TM) (FAST ESP(TM)) to power its mission-critical
online job and resume search. As part of the agreement,
CareerBuilder.com will continue to serve on FAST's Technology Advisory
Board. Both companies will work together to develop a highly
differentiated online recruitment experience through best-in-class
search technology, keeping CareerBuilder.com at the forefront of
innovation and customer satisfaction domestically and overseas.
CareerBuilder.com began working with FAST in 2002, using FAST ESP
to power the online search that allowed job seekers to find the most
suitable jobs and employers to quickly and easily find the right
candidates. Since the partnership with FAST, CareerBuilder.com has
more than doubled its job postings to over 1.5 million, quadrupled its
traffic to more than 23 million unique visitors and tripled its resume
database to over 18 million.
The FAST ESP platform has allowed CareerBuilder.com to meet the
rapidly growing demands of online traffic, and increased online job
applications. The scalable engine handles more than 600 search queries
per second at its peak without compromising search performance or the
quality of user experience. FAST ESP has also dramatically enhanced
the speed and efficiency of the online job posting process, ensuring
that CareerBuilder.com users are the first to view any new openings.
The improved user experience has increased job applications by twenty
percent since it was first installed.
"The FAST ESP platform meets CareerBuilder.com's requirements for
a fast, scalable and flexible platform," said Eric Presley, Chief
Technology Officer for CareerBuilder.com. "FAST shares
CareerBuilder.com's commitment to investing heavily in the research
and development of core components of the engine, speed and index
latency. Our partnership brings together leaders in technology and
recruitment to further enhance the user experience for employers and
job seekers as we expand on an international scale."
"CareerBuilder.com's user base has grown exponentially over the
last few years," said John M. Lervik, chief executive officer of FAST.
"Their distribution network has expanded to over 900 partners,
providing multiple touch points for employers to reach job seekers.
FAST provides a robust, forward-looking feature set in a highly
scalable enterprise search platform to support this sustained growth.
Working together, we are building an unmatched search capability for
the online careers market."
