Rapidly-growing Enterprise Content Management vendor Alfresco Software has appointed industry veteran Rick Justice to its board. Justice was chosen for his impressive track record in growing and scaling companies, having engineered the rapid growth of Cisco’s sales and systems engineering organization to a global force of 20,000. He joins Alfresco shortly after it raised $45 million in growth capital to fuel its impressive growth trajectory. Named as a Visionary in the Gartner ECM Magic Quadrant six years in a row, Alfresco is growing at triple the pace of the ECM market overall.1
Mr. Justice served as Executive Vice President of Worldwide Operations and Business Development in his final role at Cisco before his retirement in 2009, when he became Executive Advisor to Cisco CEO John Chambers. During his tenure at Cisco, sales increased from under $2 billion to in excess of $40 billion. Prior to Cisco, Justice spent 22 years with Hewlett-Packard in a variety of sales and marketing leadership roles, including head of HP Worldwide Enterprise Sales. He has a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Santa Clara University and an MBA from Stanford University.
Doug Dennerline, CEO of Alfresco, commented: “If anyone knows what it takes to develop and sell the perfect solution for the enterprise, it’s Rick – in fact, he’s built a career on it. We welcome the tremendous expertise and wisdom that Rick will bring to the Board as we aim to continue Alfresco’s impressive growth by addressing the critical content needs of large organizations.”
Newly appointed board member Rick Justice added: “It’s a joy to join a company that is on such an upward trajectory. A key part of any enterprise solution is getting the right balance between the needs of the business and IT department, and the desires of end users – I believe that Alfresco has got that right and it’s a key reason why the company continues to grow.”
