Nexthink Secures 3rd Place at the COMPUTERWOCHE Best in Big Data Awards

Nexthink®, the leading provider of end-user IT Analytics, announced today that the company secured third place in this year´s Best in Big Data competition ‘finalist projects’ for its project with Festo in partnership with Consulting4IT GmbH.

The "Best in Big Data" congress is organized by COMPUTERWOCHE, the leading IT weekly newspaper in Germany. COMPUTERWOCHE is a publication of the IDG Business Media publishing house. COMPUTERWOCHE has a long tradition as a trusted information source for professional IT managers and decision makers.

The Awards Ceremony
Participants and around 100 finalists presented their Big Data projects and solutions and answered questions in front of a jury of experts, which assessed the presentations and selected the winners.

The jury’s decision in this category is not easy. The experts praised all the projects submitted and certified the Big Data project market’s growing maturity as a whole. As the projects presented in the past years have developed from experiments and pilot projects, it is now clear that Big Data occupies an increasingly central role in the IT strategy of many companies. Successful Big Data projects have made a significant contribution to the business success and enabled new business models.

The Project
Festo is a leader in automation technology and a world market leader in technical education and training. Its goal: maximum productivity and competitiveness in the factory and process automation. With a presence in 176 countries worldwide, Festo stands for innovation and technology. Festo has acquired the Nexthink solution through its partner Consulting4IT GmbH. With the help of Nexthink’s IT Analytics, Festo has optimized its IT services for its IT infrastructure and endpoints. The Nexthink Collector continuously collects information from more than 10,000 end-user devices. Thus, the IT support team can quickly identify the mechanisms and contexts in which problems occur in order to proactively take measures to address issues.
