GLOBALCOMM Features Industry Working Together to Benefit Carriers, Enterprises and Customers; Interoperability in Action Portion of Exhibits Highlights Cooperation in Ethernet, Coax, Multimedia and Switching, Including Metro Ethernet Forum

The Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA)
announced today that GLOBALCOMM(TM) 2006 will feature a major section
of the show floor dedicated to interoperability. Industry
organizations are attempting to standardize their wares including
ethernet, coax cabling, switching and multimedia and the
Interoperability in Action section of the show floor will highlight
those efforts. Specific organizations featured as part of the
Interoperability in Action exhibit include the Metro Ethernet Forum,
Multiservice Forum, IMS Forum, Multimedia over Coax Alliance, UNH-IOL,
WiMAX Forum and TeleManagement Forum.
The Interoperability in Action features big corporations and small
businesses from across the industry to demonstrate leading-edge
technologies in action. By collaborating to create a dynamic,
interoperable infrastructure that works better together, industry can
push new technologies to market quicker, and with lower capital
expenditures for carriers and enterprises.
"Interoperability in Action demonstrates that industry understands
the needs of carriers, enterprises and ultimately consumers," said TIA
President Matt Flanigan. "By working together, new technologies can be
brought to market quicker, and with lower costs, benefiting everyone
and increasing the use of new dynamic technologies. Attendees that
visit Interoperability in Action will get a live sneak peak of some
the most exciting communications technology available."
GLOBALCOMM(TM), the next-generation communications marketplace and
summit, will be held June 4-8, 2006, at Chicago's McCormick Place,
with exhibits open from Monday, June 5 through Wednesday, June 7. For
TIA, GLOBALCOMM(TM) replaces SUPERCOMM(R) as TIA's annual industry
event.
GLOBALCOMM(TM) 2006 will feature more than 500 exhibitors,
including 105 companies from outside the United States, using more
than 197,000 net square feet of space, including exhibitor meeting
rooms, TIA's Exploration Theatre and Telecom U., as well as 20,000
projected attendees, more than a dozen conferences, and free keynote
addresses and panels.
GLOBALCOMM(TM) represents the premier business opportunity for the
entire global communications and IT industry. More than 15 percent of
