The Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA)
announced today that SUPERCOMM(R) 2005, the telecommunications
marketplace's former annual tradeshow for the global
telecommunications industry, was named to the 2006 Tradeshow Week 200
(at http://www.tradeshowweek.com/info/CA6262423.html).
GLOBALCOMM(TM), the next-generation communications marketplace and
summit, will debut June 4-8, 2006, at Chicago's McCormick Place, with
exhibits open from Monday, June 5 through Wednesday, June 7. For TIA,
GLOBALCOMM(TM) replaces SUPERCOMM(R) as TIA's annual industry event.
"GLOBALCOMM is ready to continue the tradition of the past show
and offer the telecommunications industry the latest innovations in
ICT products and services and the most effective, results-oriented
commercial experience in the marketplace," TIA President Matthew J.
Flanigan said. "At McCormick Place in Chicago, attendees will be able
to tour 190,200 net square feet of GLOBALCOMM exhibition space,
including exhibitor meeting rooms, TIA's Exploration Theatre and
Telecom U. GLOBALCOMM 2006 will continue to lead the industry as the
best show serving the entire global communications and IT marketplace
and we look forward to making Tradeshow Week's list again next year."
GLOBALCOMM(TM) 2006 will feature a free keynote address by RIM
President and Co-CEO Mike Lazaridis, remarks by FCC Chairman Kevin
Martin, and a "super panel" that includes Lucent Technologies Network
Solutions Group President Cindy Christy; Nortel President & CEO Mike
Zafirovski; Siemens Communications Group President & CEO Thomas
Ganswindt; and Tellabs President & CEO Krish Prabhu. Other major
speakers include Mundivox Communications CEO Alberto Duran; Orange CEO
Sanjiv Ahuja; AT&T CTO John T. Stankey; and Telecom Italia CTO Stefano
Pileri.
Themes that will be addressed at GLOBALCOMM 2006 include continued
globalization of the industry, mobility of computing, continued
convergence, and mergers and acquisition activity in the industry.
GLOBALCOMM(TM) represents the premier business opportunity for the
entire global communications and IT industry. More than 100 countries
will be represented at the show, and the Department of Commerce
International Trade Administration is working with GLOBALCOMM(TM) to
provide an international buyers program.
