Axway Appoints Former IBM and GXS Executives to Bolster its Leadership Team for U.S. and Latin America

In support of its continued growth, Axway (NYSE Euronext: AXW.PA), a market leader in governing the flow of data, announced today it has added two new members to its leadership team for sales and business development. Pat Ryan, formerly of IBM, has joined Axway as Senior Vice President, North America Sales; Marcelo Ramos, formerly of GXS, has taken the role of Senior Vice President, Latin America. In their roles, Ryan and Ramos will help Axway meet the growing global demand for the Axway 5 Suite, the industry’s only solution that helps organizations govern the flow of data across enterprise, cloud and mobile environments.

Pat Ryan joins Axway with more than 30 years’ experience leading global sales teams, most recently as the Director, Worldwide Sales for IBM´s business solutions portfolio. In this role he demonstrated outstanding leadership driving the sales portfolio, and was selected as “Best in IBM,” an award given to the top 500 most performant people. Prior to IBM, Ryan held sales leadership positions at companies including WorldTalk Corporation, NetFrame Systems and Wang Laboratories with involvement in global sales, marketing and global operations. In his new role, Ryan will be responsible for overseeing Axway’s North American sales organization. His primary goal will be driving sales productivity and customer satisfaction for the Axway 5 Suite, in alignment with the company’s mission to help organizations govern the flow of data.

Marcelo Ramos has a proven track record managing IT software organizations in Latin America and brings to Axway more than 28 years’ experience in developing strong customer and partner relationships, building and retaining high performance teams, increasing market share, and growing revenues with the highest performance. Most recently Ramos served as the Vice President and General Manager, LATAM for Opentext/GXS, and prior to that he held leadership roles at IBM/Sterling Commerce, where he was able to drive long-term win-win agreements with Fortune 500 global corporations doing business in the Latin American region. In his new position, Ramos will lead Axway’s Latin American organization to drive awareness, growth, sales productivity and customer satisfaction for Axway 5 Suite in the region in alignment with the company’s mission.

The appointments build on Axway’s significant growth and momentum, which includes industry-first innovations and strong global growth. In 2013, Axway introduced the Axway 5 Suite, which uniquely combines application integration with B2B, MFT, and Enterprise API Management. In its latest yearly financial results, Axway recorded strong results with €237.5 million in revenue.
