The Medline Pink Glove Dance is the only campaign to unite nearly 200,000 healthcare professionals, patients and communities around the globe to celebrate hope for a cure and honor those affected by breast cancer – all through the joy of dancing. The competition begins today and is open to participants throughout Europe. Last year, Hospital Universitario La Paz in Madrid won top honors with more than 311,000 votes.
“The Pink Glove Dance has grown into a meaningful and global movement and we look forward to seeing even more videos,” said Tripp Amdur, president, Medline Europe. “The creativity is inspiring and we encourage people in healthcare and in the community to dance and participate.”
To register, visit www.pinkglovedance.eu. Results will be announced Oct. 20 where winning donations of EUR 8,000 (1st place), EUR 4,000 (2nd place) and EUR 3,000 (3rd place) will be awarded by Medline in the top team’s name for the breast cancer charity of their choice.
About Medline’s Pink Glove Dance Campaign
In 2009, Medline turned exam gloves from green to pink and launched a breast cancer education campaign to help take the scary out of detection exams and remind nurses about the importance of open dialogue with patients. Medline then created the Pink Glove Dance video competition, which to date has brought together nearly 200,000 people to participate. More than 20 million YouTube® views later, the Medline Pink Glove Dance competition has inspired more than 1,000 videos worldwide and raised nearly $2.5 million for breast cancer prevention and free mammograms for women in need across the globe.
