FlandersBio’s annual life sciences convention is celebrating its 10th anniversary at ICC Ghent.
More than 1000 life science professionals, both national as international, will attend.
This is likely the largest regional life science conference in Europe.
The elaborate business programme of more than 30 talks will give the audience a thought-provoking perspective on the latest evolutions and future trends in the life sciences ecosystem in Flanders and abroad. Flanders is one of the few regions in the world developing health, agrofood and industrial solutions using biotechnology as a knowledge driver.
Celebrating it’s 10th anniversary, Knowledge for Growth 2014 wants together with you analyse the key societal challenges one can expect by 2024 and how the life sciences sector will help to address those. We will be guided in this forward looking by industry leaders from the international life sciences sector, Luc De Bruyne, President and General Manager, GSK Vaccines, BØrge Diderichsen, VP & R&D Outreach, Novo Nordisk A/S, Michiel van Lookeren Campagne, Head of Biotechnology, Syngenta and Jan Gheunens, Deputy Director, TB Drug, Global Health, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.
In addition leading Flemish life science companies and research institutes such as Ablynx, Bayer CropScience, Biocartis, Cochlear, CropDesign, Galapagos, Janssen Pharmaceutica, ThromboGenics, TiGenix , VIB and Imec . Experts of GIMV are guiding the audience with a number of leading speakers in the field, towards more successful financing schemes for the sector. Selected presentations of service providers active in Flanders together with the product display by more than 100 companies forms another demonstration of the vast expertise base the biotech sector has in our region.
A poster session and a job fair complete the program and attract people who have started their career in this vibrant sector.
