Appfire, North America´s most trusted provider of Atlassian Enterprise Products and Services, announced a major three-year plan today to invest in the development of new applications that leverage Atlassian Connect technology.
With more than 35 commercial add-ons for Atlassian products, 400,000 downloads and 4,000 customers across 60 countries, Appfire already develops some of the most popular offerings on the Atlassian Marketplace today through their “Bob Swift Atlassian Add-ons” brand. “With Connect, Atlassian has turned each of their award winning software products into a secure, scalable platform to build upon,” said Randall Ward, co-founder and CEO of Appfire. “3rd party developers no longer have to think in terms of simple extensions that can fit inside Atlassian´s products in order to fill feature gaps or enhance user experience. Developers can now begin to develop full-scale commercial applications that can sell alongside Atlassian.”
In January Appfire held a five-day summit in Boston to advance their add-on product line with internal developers from their Boston, Toronto, Rochester, Hyderabad and Sydney locations. “It was our version of a hack week,” said Ward. “If Atlassian is going to open the door to a new way of building SaaS-based business applications, then we’re definitely going to invest time to start experimenting without limits.”
