OpenPeak and Deutsche Telekom today announced a new integrated certificate management solution for the SAMBA! enterprise mobility platform that delivers full certificate lifecycle management over existing infrastructure and technology for seamless, ultra-secure access to corporate email and other applications across any iOS and Android device.
The joint personal information manager (PIM) solution provides unique advantages to support seamless, large-scale integration with existing PKI security protocols and provide maximum security across both iOS and Android devices with a single solution.
“We’ve designed the SAMBA! PIM to provide the ultimate in security and ease of use to meet the needs of both IT and end-users,” said OpenPeak CEO Dan Gittleman. “Now, you can use your existing, trusted protocols—so there’s nothing new to implement or recreate—and still provide employees with easy access to email and other apps within the familiar, native application on any device, in any BYOD environment.”
The cloud-based SAMBA! platform enables automatic cert enrollment and renewal, cert inventory and status management, and revocation capabilities via the Simple Certificate Enrollment Protocol (SCEP), including support for multiple SCEP profiles, certificate retrieval and both Challenge Password and One-Time Password protection. All certs are stored within the OpenPeak-powered SAMBA! Secure Workspace and are inaccessible from any jail broken or rooted device. Built-in certificate authority (CA) for on-premises deployment and Symantec VeriSign protection for public cloud deployment provide integrated security without the need to deploy additional third-party CA, SCEP or proxy solutions.
The launch of SAMBA! and its unique enterprise security solution come as Deutsche Telekom ramps up its aggressive market strategy with a series of acquisitions, network upgrades and new service launches across Europe aimed at catapulting the Germany-based company to the market leading position in central and eastern Europe.
“For our enterprise customers, email is still the most critical business app and the most widely used for sharing and accessing sensitive corporate data, which makes securing the email platform absolutely vital,” said Vice President Business Services of P&I Core Telco Products, Hans Panse. “Through our partnership with OpenPeak, SAMBA! provides a robust mobile email and secure workspace security solution with seamless management and accessibility to satisfy even the most stringent security standards on virtually any device.”
OpenPeak and Deutsche Telekom are providing invitation-only demonstrations of the new enterprise mobile security solution at Mobile World Congress 2014 in Barcelona this week.
