MRV Broadens Lab Automation Switching Product Family with New Flexible High-Density Platform

MRV Communications™, Inc. (OTCQB: MRVC) (“MRV®”), a leading provider of innovative packet and optical solutions, today announced the recent release of its Media Cross Connect™ 288 High-Speed Chassis. The new Media Cross Connect™ chassis addresses the ever-expanding needs of equipment manufacturers, carriers and service providers as they address the explosion of bandwidth-hungry network applications, such as mobile and cloud computing. The solution accelerates development efforts by providing flexible, non-blocking physical layer switching capabilities, supporting 288 ports of 10Gbps connectivity. The expanded port density improves both CAPEX and OPEX, and further accelerates time-to-market in the development of bandwidth-rich services.

Hitachi Data Systems utilizes the Media Cross Connect™ 288 high-speed physical layer switching platform to test and validate storage solutions deployed by their customers in a variety of end-user configurations, across a number of markets including service providers, carriers and enterprises. As an existing MRV and Media Cross Connect™ customer, Hitachi Data Systems was able to leverage MRV’s existing connectivity blades, software, API support and compatibility with leading lab automation management solutions to quickly and easily migrate to a higher density platform.
