Thinklogical, a leading provider of fiber optic KVM switching and
extension solutions, has expanded its product portfolio with new
high-definition video solutions specifically designed for the broadcast
and post-production environments. The ImageEvolution product line
includes a powerful video processing unit, designed for image correction
and scaling, as well as video conversion and fiber video extension. In
addition, the line currently features a new HDMI Repeater for
distribution of one of two HDMI/DVI video sources to four displays
(simultaneously). These products made their premier at this years NAB
2008 trade show in Las Vegas.
The first ImageEvolution product is a powerful video processor for
advanced image correction and scaling, while at the same time functions
as a video converter which supports HDMI, SDI, and HD-SDI. For image
correction Thinklogical has harnessed the cutting edge technology of
Gennum, using the award winning VXPTM image
processor. This supplies a core platform for exceptional and enhanced
image processing and quality. As a result, the ImageEvolution provides
two flexible 30-bit digital video input ports supporting RGB, YCbCr
4:4:4: and YCbCr 4:2:2 interlaced and/or progressive sources up to a
maximum pixel rate of 165MHz per port.
Other key ImageEvolution processor features are mosquito noise reduction
(MNR) and block artifact reduction (BAR) for minimizing artifacts
introduced by compression systems, such as MPEG. Flexible signal or dual
pixel digital video output at 8/10-bit RGB, YCbCr 4:4:4 and YCbCr 4:2:2
progressive up to a maximum pixel rate of 165MHz is also achievable.
"Indeed, the ImageEvolution represents a
significant achievement in high-performance, high- definition video
processing. It really takes the video processor to a whole new level
with the introduction of conversion and extension, which are important
issues in the broadcast and post-production industries," Comments Kevin
Keefe, Director of Engineering. "This product
is very unique and we anticipate this technology will meet the demands
of the market and enable broadcast and post-production professionals to
fully harness high-definition video."
The ImageEvolution represents great strides in video technology with
enhanced connectivity flexibility, with multi-mode fiber ports for video
extension up to 1000 meters (3280 feet). This provides key integration
with Thinklogical´s line of fiber optic video
extenders and switches, making the ImageEvolution a highly effective and
scalable asset management system. In addition, it is capable of
delivering true 1080i/p, without any frame or bit dropping and no
degradation in video performance.
In addition to the video processor the ImageEvolution line also features
an HDMI Repeater. This sends one of two video sources (HDMI or DVI) to
four digital display devices (LCD monitors, projectors and plasmas)
simultaneously, with superb identical reproduction and without any
signal loss. The ImageEvolution HDMI repeater supports high-definition
protocols to insure maximum compatibility and signal encoding in order
to maintain the highest HDMI single link video resolution and digital
audio signal.
The new ImageEvolution product line will be available for shipping July
15th, 2008. Demonstrations of the
ImageEvolution products will take place at the IBC tradeshow, at the RAI
Convention Centre (Hall 12P, Stand # A29) in Amsterdam, September
12-16th 2008.
