Teradek, the world leader in compact wireless video transmission systems, announced today the Cube Pro, the latest addition to the award-winning family of Cube encoders. Cube Pro is a camera back H.264 encoder with built in 2.4/5GHz WiFi, Ethernet, and 3G/4G/LTE modem support. Its modular design allows V- or AB Gold-mount power and mounting options to provide the most demanding camera operators with a versatile wireless HD video system that can be tailored to any type of production.
The Cube Pro offers a number of significant enhancements over current Cube models as a result of its two new co-processors, which allow for higher bit rate encoding for broadcasts or proxy recording, as well as lower latency streaming, and HD monitoring on as many as 5 iOS devices simultaneously. Cube Pro can also utilize Teradek’s latest mobile software solutions including TeraView™, which allows users to monitor up to 4 video feeds simultaneously on one iPad.

Like Teradek’s other Cube encoders, Cube Pro can stream via a variety of industry standard transport protocols like MPEG-TS, RTMP, RTSP, UDP Multicast, as well as proprietary protocols optimized for low latency. The device supports Close Captioning and includes an HD-SDI input and loop, analog audio in/out, an SD card for on-board proxy recording, and an OLED display for changing settings on the fly. An internal Li-Ion battery has also been added to ensure the unit does not power down during external battery swaps.
