Global packaging company Exal Group is delighted to announce the appointment of John Friedery to the position of executive chairman.
Friedery joined Exal´s board in June 2012 following a successful career at Ball Corporation that spanned more than 20 years. Before his retirement from Ball in 2010, Friedery was president of Ball´s Metal Beverage Packaging division in the Americas and Asia from 2008 to 2010, and chief operating officer of Ball´s North American Packaging Products division from 2004 to 2008. Prior to this, he held a number of progressively senior roles, including various plant manager, vice president and president titles across the organization
Friedery succeeds Exal´s founder, Delfin Gibert, who will continue to serve on the board, while allowing him to remain a valued contributor to the ongoing success of Exal, as well as pursue a lead role in an exciting international joint venture with Exal.
Friedery earned a Bachelor´s of Science Degree in Geology from the College of William and Mary (1978) and an MBA from the University of Tampa (1992). He also completed the Harvard Business School Advanced Management Program in 2003.
