Icelandic Group Appoints New Managing Director of Gadus

Icelandic Group, the leading international seafood company of Iceland, announced today the appointment of Frank Tierenteyn as the new Managing Director of Gadus, a recently acquired fish processing company located in Belgium. Prior to joining Icelandic Group Mr. Tierenteyn served as a Director and General Manager at La Bretagne Logistics in Belgium. Frank Tierenteyn brings to Gadus extensive experience in both the local Belgian and international seafood sectors having been employed for many years at Pieters Group, a Belgian-based fish farming, processing and sales company now part of Marine Harvest Group. His career at Pieters Group began in 1984 where he carried out various executive and management functions reporting directly to the owner/Managing Director. In 1998 Mr. Tierenteyn led a leveraged management buyout of the company supported by IK Partners. Following the acquisition of Pieters Group by Fjord Seafood in 2000, he was appointed Executive Vice President of the Added Value division of Fjord Seafood. Between 2004 and 2011 Frank Tierenteyn served as CEO of Viangro Groupe SA, a meat processing company in Belgium.
