Orderman: Who are the hospitality heroes?

Each day, they carry half a ton of food and drink untold kilometres from point A to point B - on foot. They work when most people have off, especially at the weekend. They are always courteous, cheerful and entertaining. They are the restaurant service staff - without them, visits to restaurants, cafes, bars and nightclubs would be no fun.

"This degree of mental and physical exertion is demanded of hardly any other profession. This is reason enough for us to thank the service staff for once and put them on a pedestal!", said Andreas Neuhofer, in announcing the new initiative by Orderman, the Salzburg-based provider of hospitality technology solutions.

Through 11 November, the hospitality service staff from all European countries are invited to nominate themselves to be chosen "Hospitality Heroes". Applicants can register at www.facebook.com/Orderman and then inform their friends, guests and friends about their participation so that they can vote for them. The eleven candidates with the most votes move on to the jury competition. After evaluation of the motivational statements from the applications, the jury of experts selects the greatest hospitality heroes.

"We at Orderman know that each person on the service staff is a hero. To demonstrate that, we created our Facebook competition. Places two through eleven each receive €111.11. The winner takes gets €1,111.11, which is probably the best tip in the world," said Anton Haller, Orderman Marketing Manager and organizer of the "Hero Initiative".
