Canon Communications LLC today announced that it will launch
MEDTEC France 22-23 April 2009 in Besancon, France. The new exhibition
and conference join the company´s lineup of MEDTEC trade fairs serving
Europe´s EUR 65 billion medical device manufacturing sector, the
others organized in Ireland, the UK, and Germany.
Exceeded in Europe only by Germany in terms of the production of
medical devices, France´s 2,000 medical manufacturers produced some
EUR 10.5 Billion in finished medical devices in 2007. Spurred by the
increasing demands of an aging population, the French medical
manufacturing market continues to expand at nearly 7% per year.
In selecting Besancon, Canon has strategically positioned its new
trade fair in the heart of the highest concentration of medical
manufacturing in France. Franche-Comte is an internationally renowned
centre for microtechnology. Within this region and the surrounding
regions of Rhone-Alp, Bourgogne, Champagne, Lorraine, and Alsace,
there are nearly 1,000 medical manufacturing facilities employing

Joining the 300-company exhibition at MEDTEC France will be a
dedicated conference addressing issues of special interest to the
