WebMessenger, a leader in enterprise mobile communications, today
announced that Joe Naylor has been promoted to President. Mr. Naylor
had been Chief Marketing Officer and Vice President of Product
Development since he joined WebMessenger in 2005. Further solidifying
the management team, WebMessenger announced that Dan Coole has joined
the company as Vice President of Sales and Marketing, and Amir Hudda
has been appointed to the Board of Directors.
Mr. Naylor´s focus will be on extending WebMessenger´s leadership
position in the burgeoning real-time enterprise mobile communications
market. As President he will oversee the development of new solutions
for BlackBerry, Windows Mobile, Symbian and Palm mobile devices, and
drive strategic business relationships with enterprise customers,
global telecommunications carriers, OEMs and resellers.
"Enterprise mobile communications is a rapidly expanding market
that WebMessenger is uniquely positioned to exploit given its 15-year
track record," said Val Babajov, founder and CEO for WebMessenger.
"Joe was instrumental in transforming WebMessenger from a professional
services company into a market-leading real-time collaboration and
mobile messaging technology provider. Dan is a veteran mobile
communications sales and marketing executive who generated significant
revenue securing contracts with device manufacturers and
telecommunications carriers while overseeing business development for
OZ Communications. Amir is a world-class entrepreneur who has started,
run and sold a number of tech companies. We are tremendously excited
to announce these appointments and we have no doubt that each will
help to accelerate the company´s growth."
Mr. Naylor joined WebMessenger in 2005 to help the company
transition from an engineering to a product company focused on
enterprise mobile instant messaging. In this role Mr. Naylor launched
a number of WebMessenger products and was prominent in securing and
managing strategic partnerships with key players in the mobile
collaboration and messaging space, including IBM, Nokia, Research In
Motion, Sprint, Sybase, and Symbian. Prior to WebMessenger, Mr. Naylor
was Vice President of Corporate Product Development for J2 Global
Communications (NasdaqGS: JCOM), where he designed, developed,
launched and managed the eFax Corporate Internet fax services
targeting the enterprise market. Mr. Naylor received a B.S. in
Electrical Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin.
As Vice President of Sales and Marketing for WebMessenger, Mr.
Coole, a 20-year mobile industry veteran, will lead all WebMessenger
sales channels, including direct-to-enterprise, OEMs/Resellers and
on-line sales through webmessenger.com. Previously, Mr. Coole was Vice
President of Sales and Global Partnering for OZ Communications, the
leading provider of consumer mobile messaging solutions, where he was
responsible for the company´s device application business, as well as
key partnering, product planning, and strategic development
activities. Prior to OZ, Mr. Coole played key roles in market,
product, and technology development for Ericsson and Mitsubishi
Electronics. Mr. Coole earned a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from
Penn State and a Master´s in Systems Engineering from Virginia Tech.
As a board member, Mr. Hudda will help secure and manage strategic
partnerships, targeting companies that can leverage WebMessenger´s
technology assets to advance their own business and product roadmap
objectives. Most recently, Mr. Hudda served as CEO for Apptix. In two
and a half years at Apptix, he transformed the company from a $6M
business focused on selling hosted exchange services exclusively
through channel partners to a global business with a $40M annual
recurring run rate that largely sold its comprehensive suite of email,
collaboration and voice solutions directly over the web to SMBs. In
the last 13 years Mr. Hudda has raised almost $100M in financings
through leading venture capitalists as well as U.S. and Norwegian
investment banks. He has also completed six M&A transactions valued at
approximately $175M. Mr. Hudda holds a M.S. in Computer Science from
Georgia Tech and a B.E. in Computer Engineering from PICT, University
of Pune, India.
"Our focus will continue to be helping enterprises leverage their
investments in Microsoft LCS/OCS and Group Chat, IBM Lotus Sametime
and other enterprise collaboration platforms by extending the
productivity gains made on the desktop out to mobile devices," said
Mr. Naylor. "In addition, our new carrier-class presence and mobile
real-time communications platform enables the deployment of
large-scale, geographically redundant wireless messaging services, and
our Message Alerts product now allows enterprises to ensure efficiency
and control of multiple communications channels for their mobile
workforce. Through relationships with global carriers, OEMs and
resellers, we will provide partners with recurring revenue-generating,
value-added mobile enterprise software and services offerings."
