Other highlights of the program included a welcome by Amsterdam Mayor Eberhard van der Laan, followed by a keynote address on recent Dutch biotech deals in the Netherlands´ dynamic regional sector. The opening plenary addressed orphan indications as one viable model for drug development. This discussion focused on development strategies for orphan drugs and the future of personalized medicine. Overall, the high level of activities at BIO-Europe Spring worked to keep delegates involved and engaged with their industry collaborators from the one-to-one partnering meetings and program offerings, to exhibitor receptions and evening events.
