SPAR has opted for a new, modern, user-friendly document management system (DMS). Across more than 4,400 work stations and seven different countries Fabasoft Folio has replaced the previous Groupware system. In just 10 months SPAR Business Services GmbH/ICS and Fabasoft were able to collectively implement this project according to plan and with enormous success. The software is specially tailored to SPAR´s requirements and the medium-term goal is a rollout across the entire SPAR Austria Group (SPAR, SES Spar European Shopping Centers, Hervis). Thus turning the goal of a company-wide DMS solution at the cutting edge of technology into reality.
More than 20 million documents have been transferred from the previous solution to the new Fabasoft Folio system since the start of the DMS project. The easy, intuitive operation, an extensive e-learning program plus the availability of key users at each location have made the change significantly easier for the employees. With the new DMS solution the company has completed the digitalization of the complete document lifecycle and of its content-centric business processes. The personnel department, for example, now benefits from the digital personnel file realized by Fabasoft Folio that can be called out directly from SAP.

After the successful, company-wide DMS implementation SPAR is now focusing on the continued implementation of business applications with Fabasoft Folio´s development platform. With the digital personnel file, media database and construction plan archiving the first "Enterprise Apps" are already available. The wish for secure, mobile access to documents via tablets and smartphones is set to be met in the next phase with the Fabasoft Folio App.
