Sabre Travel Network, a global technology company serving travel suppliers and agencies, will offer new global rail content to travel agents following a deal with ACP Rail International.
Through the relationship with ACP Rail International, a division of ACP Marketing, Sabre-connected agents will have access to rail content from operators in the UK, the US, Scandinavia, Australia, Japan and China in the GDS.
The content will be available from March 30 through the ACP Rail application in the Sabre Red Workspace, an agency platform to shop, book and manage travel.
ACP Rail will allow agents to view schedules, book point-to-point rail journeys, rail passes and itineraries, and issue tickets. Bookings are integrated into the passenger´s booking, and can be tracked, and reported in mid- and back-office applications.
Harald Eisenaecher, Sabre Travel Network´s senior vice president for Europe, Middle East and Africa, said, "Rail is increasingly popular for short distance travel around Europe for both corporate and leisure travellers. Our agreement with ACP provides agencies with far more rail options than before, and includes the ability to book rail on its own or combined with air, car and hotel.
"ACP Rail provides rail fares in key geographic locations around the world and the potential to earn commission from these operators will provide a valuable new revenue stream for leisure agencies and travel management companies."
ACP Rail makes it easy for agencies to book rail without needing licensing agreements with rail operators.
Denis Grenier, ACP´s vice president of marketing and business development, said, "Sabre´s global distribution provides rail operators with instant reach to agents all over the world via the Sabre Red Workspace platform, while also providing agents with an international range of rail passes and train tickets.
"Being chosen by Sabre confirms the vast potential of ACP´s rail distribution technology and affirms Sabre´s commitment to its agents by offering world class rail products."
