TomTom to power HTC Locations App for HTC smartphones in India

TomTom today announced it has partnered with HTC to provide the maps, points of interest and turn-by-turn directions for a range of HTC smartphones in India.

This partnership marks the first consumer-focused implementation of TomTom´s map data in the rapidly growing Indian market. ABI Research, in its 2011 study released in Q3, forecasts that more than 5.2 million smartphones will ship to India in 2012; this number is projected to more than triple by 2015.
