Peru's Humala taps ex-army officer to lead cabinet

LIMA (Reuters) - Peruvian President Ollanta Humala has named former interior minister and ex-army officer Oscar Valdes to be his prime minister, the presidential palace said in a statement on Saturday.

Businessman Salomon Lerner stepped down as prime minister earlier in the day, prompting all ministers in Humala's cabinet to offer their resignations, as required by law.
