Seasoned Industry Executive Joins Soft Solutions As New Country Director In Canada
Soft Solutions announces the appointment of accomplished retail
industry executive Bob Harlond as Managing Director of its Canadian
Operations.
Mr. Harlond has over 20 years in senior and executive positions
with business solutions providers such as J.D. Edwards, JBA Plc and
Exe Technologies/SSA Global in both Canada and the Americas. In each
of these companies, he was successful in the development and expansion
of retail and supply chain practices and grew these sectors to include
many of the top names in Canadian retailing. His accomplishments
include product deployment and business relationships with Rona,
Canadian Tire Corporation, Shoppers Drug Mart, London Drugs, Metro
Richelieu, Provigo, Sobeys and many other industry leading retailers.

Mr. Harlond has also worked with the Hudson´s Bay Company in
Toronto during a period of very high growth, in a number of executive
positions as part of the HBC senior management team both in
merchandise management, planning and at senior store management level.
Previously Mr. Harlond´s retail experience in the UK included the
liquor industry, working with International Distillers & Vintners Plc
(IDV) as a senior manager of operations for their retail group. He was
also responsible for all of the IDV group´s product training
activities. Additionally he owned and ran his own sporting equipment
and clothing store group in the UK Midlands before moving to Canada.
