Opnext Highlights 10G and 40G Technologies During ECOC 2011

Opnext, Inc. (NASDAQ:OPXT), a global leader in high speed optical communications technology, reinforces its technology leadership through its participation in the European Conference on Optical Communications (ECOC) being held September 19 - 21 in Geneva, Switzerland.

Opnext will feature the following demonstrations at the conference:

--   Opnext´s 10G XFP tunable transceiver demonstration will show 80km transmission with full C-Band at 50GHz channel spacing. The demo will highlight the ability to perform automatic wavelength tuning designed to maintain stable wavelength control while supporting a wavelength range of 1529 to 1567 nm.
 
--   Extending the Company´s robust 40Gbps product family, Opnext will demonstrate its newest 40Gbps technology in a QSFP+ (quad small form factor pluggable plus) module. The QSFP+ 40GBASE-LR4 module uses 4x10G CWDM integrated optics to transmit 40GbE traffic over a distance of 10km on single mode fiber.
