TABB Group, the U.S.-based financial markets' research and
strategic advisory firm focused exclusively on capital markets, today
announced that Andrew Howieson has joined the company as a partner and
member of the executive management team with the title of managing
director, TABB Group Europe. The former State Street Corporation
senior executive and capital markets industry veteran with over 25
years' experience will lead TABB Group's strategic expansion to London
and Europe's financial market centers.
"Based on strong customer response there over the past two years,
Europe is the next-step growth market for us and Andrew's track record
in directing operations and spearheading business development in the
US and Europe makes him the right person to build a strong European
team and scale our efforts to meet customer demands there," said Larry
Tabb, founder and CEO for TABB Group. "Professionally, I've known Andy
for more than 10 years since State Street. Personally, I feel that
he's a great addition to the TABB executive management team and we
look forward to having him work with us."
"This is a dynamic time in Europe," said Howieson. "With
extraordinary change, development and volatility in the capital
markets, I am excited to be working with such an excellent group of
people with an outstanding reputation for professionalism and market
insight. This is such a wonderful opportunity to be an integral part
of TABB Group's next stage of strategic development and expansion to
London and across Europe."
Mr. Howieson joins TABB Group from eSecLending, the global
securities lending manager, where as director of eSecLending (Europe)
Limited from 2005 to 2007 he developed their European capabilities,
managing the London office's provision of global lending programs to
major institutional investors.
Prior to eSecLending, he consulted for two years after spending 13
years at State Street Corporation, based in Boston. As a senior vice
president and a member of the executive committee, he worked directly
with State Street's Chairman and CEO and is closely associated with
the company's strategic development through the 1990s, particularly
with expansion in information and electronic transaction services.
After joining State Street in 1989 to open the Luxembourg office, he
was appointed director, global strategy and development in 1991,
responsible for strategic development across the organization. He
formed State Street Information Partnerships (SSIP) in 1995, driving
innovative developments in the pre-trade and trade sectors of the
investment cycle. In 1998, he formed State Street Advanced Auctions,
developing Bond Connect, an advanced electronic marketplace for fixed
income securities.
Previous to State Street, he spent 20 years in management
positions at Prudential in London, Continental Bank in Madrid and
London, American Express International Banking Corporation in London
and Hong Kong, First National Bank of Chicago and Barclays Bank
International in London and at sea on the QE2. Educated in the UK, he
is an associate of the Chartered Institute of Bankers.
