Cool, windy in Northeast, showers in Midwest and Plains

NEW YORK (Reuters) - Temperatures in the Northeast were expected to run 5 to 15 degrees F below average on Thursday everywhere but the coastal plain, and it will be a windy day, forecasters said.

Showers were anticipated in the Midwest and light showers in the northern and eastern portion of the Plains.

There was some chance of light showers in the dry areas of the southwest Plains as well, while wet and cold weather featured in the northern Plains.
