Energy shares lead Wall Street decline

NEW YORK (Reuters) - U.S. stocks fell on Monday as energy stocks led a sell-off on falling crude prices and as investors were cautious ahead of the start of earnings season.

The Dow Jones industrial average <.DJI> was down 19.83 points, or 0.16 percent, at 12,360.22. The Standard & Poor's 500 Index <.SPX> was down 6.37 points, or 0.48 percent, at 1,321.80. The Nasdaq Composite Index <.IXIC> was down 16.96 points, or 0.61 percent, at 2,763.46.
