Cross Match Technologies Inc., a global provider of biometric
identity solutions, announced today that General James L. Jones has
joined the company's Board of Directors.
General Jones currently serves as president and CEO of the
Institute for 21st Century Energy of the United States Chamber of
Commerce. He retired from the United States Marine Corps in February
2007 as a four star general after 40 years of active service. At the
time of his retirement, he was the NATO Supreme Allied Commander
Europe and the Commander of the U.S. European Command. From 1999 to
2003, he served as the Commandant of the U.S. Marine Corps. Recently,
he chaired the "Independent Commission on the Security Forces of
Iraq," a body of military experts created by Congress to assess the
capabilities of Iraq's security forces.

General Jones is the recipient of numerous decorations for his
extraordinary military service, including Defense Distinguished
Service Medal with two oak leaf clusters, Silver Star Medal, Legion of
Merit with four gold stars, Bronze Star Medal with Combat "V", and
Combat Action Ribbon.
General Jones, 63, is a graduate of the National War College.
Early in his career, he attended the Georgetown University School of
Foreign Service and served in Vietnam. He was born in Kansas City,
Mo., and grew up in France, where his father worked after leaving the
Marine Corps. General Jones and his wife, Diane, reside in McLean, Va.
