Tunisian PM says he has taken over temporarily

TUNIS (Reuters) - Tunisian Prime Minister Mohamed Ghannouchi said on Friday he had taken over from President Zine al-Abedine Ben Ali on an interim basis.

In a television address Ghannouchi said he would respect the constitution and restore stability.

"I vow that I will respect the constitution and implement the political, economic and social reforms that have been announced ... in consultation with all political sides including political parties and civil society," he said in a live address.
