On August 9th, the Ronco assets were purchased by Ronco
Acquisition Corporation, to form The New Ronco and rebuild the
legendary Company that pioneered famous TV direct marketing and
consumer brands such as the Pocket Fisherman, Veg-o-Matic, and the
groundbreaking Showtime Rotisserie Oven and Six Star Knife set. After
a high profile bankruptcy, consumer and direct marketing veteran,
Larry Nusbaum partnered with Marlin Equity Partners, as the Chief
Executive and co-investor to lead the Company back to profitability.
Nusbaum states, "We are rebuilding the original vision that Mr.
Popeil created, by marketing a cadre of high quality gadgets and
branded housewares that have historically performed on television.
Using Popeil's time tested business model, we will distribute our
proprietary, patented product lines through multi-channel media and
build a New Ronco retail footprint." The Company was founded and
operated by its famous pitchman, Ron Popeil, and flourished through
the 90s and early 2000 until he divested his interest in 2005.
The New Ronco will relaunch the "Ronco Classics Line," leveraging
its established overseas resources and will target new channels of
distribution. The Company will search for innovation at trade shows
and welcome ideas from proven inventors in the space.
Nusbaum closes, "We have made great progress in a short period,
and are confident we can reinvigorate the brand image, and return the
business to profitability. We intend to build upon Mr. Popeil's
original vision of creating, marketing and selling high quality
products that generate long term consumer loyalty."
The New Ronco, headquartered in Simi Valley, CA, is a leading
consumer products direct marketer to the housewares, household and
kitchen gadgets sector.
