U.S. waives new enviro reviews for certain drillers

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The U.S. Interior Department on Monday said it will allow 13 oil companies to resume deepwater drilling in the Gulf of Mexico without an additional environmental review.

Companies that were already drilling wells when the agency imposed a temporary deepwater drilling ban will be able to restart those halted projects if they meet certain criteria, the department said.
