SES (Paris:SESG) (LuxX:SESG) has been awarded "Satellite Operator
of the Year: Growth and Profits 2007" for the second consecutive year
by Euroconsult, a leading Paris-based consultancy and research
organisation specialising in broadcasting and space communication.
The award is based on a performance analysis of a peer group and
recognises SES' industry-leading track record in revenue and profit
growth in 2006 and in the period 2004-2006. Specifically, the jury
based its findings on the increase in revenue, the development of
EBITDA and EBIT, as well as on the evolution of the net profit margin.
SES' revenue in 2006 increased by 28.4% to EUR 1,615.2 million.
EBITDA grew 22.6% to EUR 1,080.1 million, while EBIT rose 27.2% to EUR
605.3 million, and the net income of EUR 435.8 million represented a
net income margin of 27%.
Romain Bausch, President and CEO of SES, said: "This award
reflects the success of our profitable growth strategy, which is
further underscored by our strong results of the first half 2007. Our
investment strategy focusing on the development of our core business
and on complementary services businesses is producing great results
and allows us to enhance our distribution policy."
