At least 4 dead in Ivory Coast clashes - witnesses

ABIDJAN (Reuters) - At least four people were killed in Ivory Coast's main city Abidjan on Thursday after forces loyal to incumbent Laurent Gbagbo fired live rounds at marchers supporting rival presidential claimant Alassane Ouattara, witnesses said.

"I saw four killed and many wounded. They fired guns to push us back when we tried to march down the street," said one protester, part of a group of Ouattara supporters who were marching to seize the state television broadcaster.

Amnesty International said it had received reports from witnesses of at least nine people shot dead. Asked about the witness reports of deaths, an army spokesman declined comment.
