Siemens Medical Solutions Diagnostics
(www.usa.siemens.com/medical) today announced the availability of the
ADVIA 1800 chemistry system, the latest addition to their ADVIA
chemistry line of advanced chemistry analyzers. The ADVIA 1800
features an intuitive software interface and advanced chemistry
testing capabilities to deliver optimized performance and reliable
results.
"The ADVIA 1800 is the right move for high volume labs looking for
automation, peak productivity, and total system reliability," said Joe
Bernardo, senior vice president, Central Laboratory Testing, Siemens
Medical Solutions Diagnostics. "The ADVIA 1800 delivers dependable
test results efficiently and cost effectively."
This newest addition to the ADVIA line of chemistry analyzers
brings significant reliability and ease of use to high volume
chemistry labs. Siemens has retained the key features of the ADVIA
chemistry line such as Automatic Sample Retain and high photometric
test speed and added even more productivity benefits, including faster
and more reliable ISE test module and easy sample and reagent loading.
The ADVIA 1800 incorporates easy automation connectivity to the
ADVIA WorkCell or ADVIA LabCell Network Solutions without requiring
additional expensive interface hardware. With point-in-space
aspiration, connection to a track or rack handler can be accomplished
without robotics or special hardware. Direct sampling prevents
detaining tubes at the analyzer and reduces aliquoting. Redundant
sample loading is included for built-in backup and easy handling of
non-routine samples.
The ADVIA 1800 reflects Siemens continuing commitment to the
clinical chemistry area. Capable of conducting up to 1800 tests per
hour, or 200 Basic Metabolic panels per hour, the ADVIA 1800 keeps
pace with peak workflow demands. The system's Automatic Sample Retain
technology provides the ability to perform reruns and dilutions
without the need to retrieve a primary tube.
ADVIA 1800 users will appreciate that the system is designed for
total system reliability. It features robust hardware with a
simplified software interface and easy-to-use touch screen. Sample
integrity checking, microvolume sampling, and short sample and clot
detection, all reduce the need for manual intervention and facilitate
testing routine and low-volume samples. New advances in reagent
onboard stability, calibration frequency, interference reduction and
linearity expansion ensure consistent, reliable results.
Whether with automation or stand-alone, the system works in
concert with Siemens immunoassay systems to offer productivity gains
and comprehensive menu for the core laboratory. With a testing
throughput that is complementary to the ADVIA Centaur XP, laboratories
have a good solution to keep up with their workflow needs.
