Pavilion Technologies Helps Emirates Team New Zealand in Pursuit of America's Cup

Pavilion Technologies, a world leader in model-based software, is
providing technology support for Emirates Team New Zealand (ETNZ),
winner of the 2007 Louis Vuitton Cup, as it enters the finals of the
32nd America's Cup. Since 2002, ETNZ has used Pavilion's modeling
software to prepare its yacht and team to compete at peak performance.
Primarily used in manufacturing to improve production processes,
Pavilion's modeling software allows ETNZ to analyze hundreds of
thousands of variables, including boat structure, navigation and
weather, in order to optimize performance. Facing off with defending
champion Team Alinghi of Switzerland, ETNZ is a top challenger in the
race to win the 32nd America's Cup.

"No other commercial application meets our requirements to
visualize, analyze and model the massive amounts of navigational,
structural and meteorological data we collect every day," said
Christopher Miller, software designer, ETNZ.

Though yachts have long used instrumentation to make sailing
decisions, using commercial modeling technologies is a recent trend in
sailing innovation. A highly technical sport, yacht racing features
boat design engineering and sailing skill, with numerous teams using
software to gain insight on their performance. By leveraging
Pavilions' modeling technology, ETNZ has been able to make intelligent
sailing decisions based on critical factors such boat design and
weather, maximizing the team's performance to gain a competitive edge
in anticipation of the coveted America's Cup.

"Many, if not all, of the America's Cup challenge teams use
operations intelligence technologies, and not just for cranking
through the complex mathematics of hull design," said Alison Smith,
senior research analyst, AMR Research in her recent Article Alert, The
Pertinence of Models Part 2: Operations Intelligence Powers 32nd
America's Cup Contenders. "Real-time, model-based performance analysis
is becoming de rigueur in the high-flying sport of world-class yacht
racing. In fact, we suspect there's more real-time instrumentation and
analysis power on one of these yachts than you would find inside an
average manufacturing facility."

Beating out the defending champion Team Alinghi of Switzerland for
a sweeping victory in the 2007 Louis Vuitton Cup finals, ETNZ has
emerged as a formidable contender for this year's 32nd annual
America's Cup. The America's Cup is the culminating event that began
with the first act of the Louis Vuitton Cup in Marseille in May 2005
with five teams in competition: Team Alinghi, BMW ORACLE Racing,
Emirates Team New Zealand, LE DEFI, K-Challenge and Team Shosholoza.
Nearly two years, 12 teams and many races later, the grand finale for
the America's Cup began this Saturday and will decide the reigning
world champion.

"It is exciting to see ETNZ's success in sailings' most esteemed
competition," said Ralph Carter, CEO, Pavilion Technologies. "As an
official supplier to ETNZ, we take great pride that Pavilion's
modeling technology is playing a key role in the success of this
world-class team and we wish them the best of luck in their quest for
the title."
