Weakening Bonnie downgraded to tropical depression

MIAMI (Reuters) - Tropical Storm Bonnie lost strength as it slogged across south Florida Friday, prompting the U.S. National Hurricane Center to downgrade it to a tropical depression.

The Miami-based hurricane center said it was downgrading the short-lived tropical cyclone after its winds dropped below 40 miles per hour.
