Obama says U.S. sanctions aim to curb Iran nuclear ambitions

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - President Barack Obama will say on Thursday that new U.S. sanctions on Iran would strike "at the heart" of the Islamic Republic's ability to develop nuclear programs, according to remarks prepared for delivery.

Obama is due to sign into law later on Thursday tough new sanctions that aim to squeeze fuel imports into the Islamic Republic and penalize foreign banks if they do business there.
