OptimumPath, LLC today announced the sale of Lot 24A, comprised of
U.S. Patent # 7,035,281 and related IP assets, titled "wireless
provisioning device for large WAN connectivity." The patents will be
offered at The IP Investment Summit & Live Auction 2007 ("IPILA 2007")
on 1 June at The Dorchester in London, England.
This Lot features a U.S. Patent covering technology relevant to
the systems and processes, including billing for providing WiFi
Internet access on a small or large (community) scale to customers.
More particularly, the patent is directed to wireless provisioning
devices and networks capable of routing TCP/IP traffic at 2.4 Ghz
based on Linux.
Potential licensees include: Cisco, Linksys, Motorola, 3Com, SONY,
D-Link, RIM, Texas Instruments, Wayport, Earthlink, Colubris,
Microsoft, Google, Starbucks Coffee, Ebay, Siemens, Alcatel-Lucent,
Proxim, Vonage, etc. Also, many Carrier networks and Service Providers
may need license, as 7,035,281 is a Utility Patent for the Sale, Use,
or Manufacture of devices or networks.
The Invention was reported in the March 2000 issue of the Wall
Street Journal.
