WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The White House said on Friday the time was right for a climate change bill despite calls by Republican Senator Lindsey Graham for a pause following the Gulf of Mexico oil spill.
White House spokesman Robert Gibbs said the oil spill showed that drilling alone would not solve the U.S. energy problem and he noted that higher summer fuel prices would add to the sense among consumers that the country needed to address its energy woes.
