Zycus Inc. today announced that EUR 7 billion Norwegian industry
group Orkla (ORK.- NOK 55 bn), has successfully implemented its AI
based Spend Data Management software solution, AutoClass, to get spend
visibility across it's operations in 13 countries.
The new spend analysis system, called SMART, will give Orkla an
overall view of all purchases made by individual companies.
"This system will make it possible for Orkla to create substantial
value and revolutionise the possibilities for collaboration between
Group companies. We can see what each company buys, on what
conditions, and from which supplier. Until now, procurement and
strategic sourcing has largely been carried out by individual
companies, without exploiting our aggregate strength as a group in
relation to the supplier market," points out Orkla Project Manager
Edgar Heitmann.
SMART is closely linked to the group companies and the LEAP
programme's common goal of reducing Orkla's total purchasing costs by
NOK 1 billion by 2009 compared with 2005.
Zycus' AutoClass (component of Actionable Spend Analysis solution)
is classifying enterprise-wide data for both direct and indirect spend
originating from around 40 diverse PO, MM and A/P systems in 13
languages like Norwegian , Danish , Swedish , Czech, Estonian,
Finnish, German, Latvian, Lithuanian, Portuguese, Polish, Russian and
Romanian.
