Wavecom (Paris:AVM) (NASDAQ:WVCM) (ISIN:FR0000073066) announced
today the arrival of Emmanuel Walckenaer, a seasoned expert in the
field of wireless service delivery and support to head-up its newest
activity - RDMS, Remote Device Management Services.
Ron Black, Wavecom CEO declared, "We are extremely pleased to have
Emmanuel join Wavecom to drive the new RDMS business. His extensive
experience in creating and running a service operation will help us
quickly position this new business activity for success."
Introduced in February, 2007, Wavecom's RDM Services make it
possible to easily and cost-effectively monitor and update products in
the field remotely, via a complete, secure, turn-key, end-to-end
operated service. Equipment manufacturers and service providers can
save significant time and expense by running remote diagnostics,
upgrading their own applications and core wireless firmware, adding
new features or following evolving standards.
"I am enthusiastic to join Wavecom at a time when opportunities
for growth abound. Furthermore, I am convinced that this new service
offer fills an important customer need -- one that will boost the
wireless machine-to-machine market," stated Emmanuel Walckenaer.
As the senior executive in charge of the Remote Device Management
Service business, Mr. Walckenaer brings nearly 20 years of experience
in service-business management to Wavecom. During his ten-year career
at Gemplus - now Gemalto, he created the Over-the-Air software offer
-- complete with a support hotline and training unit. He also
headed-up the EMEA wireless branch and set-up the North and South
American Gemplus service organization to support both telecom and ID
Security. At Gemplus he also served as Senior VP for the Wireless
Product-Telecom Business Unit
Mr. Walckenaer is a French national and holds an engineering
degree from the Ecole Centrale, Paris.
